Our lakes are inspected annually in order to maintain the Organic Certification for Canadian, European, and US markets.

Our rice is Grade A in both 'Extra Large' and 'Medium Large.'

Our certification comes from Pro-Cert Organic Systems Ltd. (Pro-Cert). This is comparable to OCIA International certification.

Wild Rice History

In eastern parts of Canada, Aboriginal peoples harvested wild rice as an important food source long before it was introduced locally. Wild rice seeds were introduced into Saskatchewan during the 1930s as a way to increase the population of muskrats and ducks for improved hunting. Saskatchewan is now Canada's largest producer of naturally grown wild rice.

· ghínázë (Dëne), mânomin (Cree) and sometimes kistigân (Cree) are all words used to refer to wild rice

· menominee (an Ojibwe word) means "wild rice people"

· zizania palustris is Latin for wild rice
