Evergreen Herbs is a family run business in Surrey B.C. and Cambridge, ON.

In 1996, two brothers decided to start a company with a small patch of their father's farm and an office in a garage.

Today, it is a highly successful, sustainable business that leads the way in local farming.

The water used at Evergreen Farms comes from a ditch to irrigate the now mostly organic fields of herbs, baby vegetables, cucumbers, rhubarb, micro greens, and baby lettuces; however, their water is purified better than our drinking water.

Evergreen has invested in a system to clean their water.

There is no chance of any contamination or harm to a water table or using too much water in a dry summer - this is sustainability at its most imaginative.

The field is a mass of beautiful herbs and tiny baby vegetables and squashes for as far as you can see.

All fed with water that passes every food safety test and is grown right in the Fraser Valley.

It is a testament to the forward thinking of 2 brothers, Ron and TJ Brar and what they want their future and the future of their company, Evergreen Herbs and Roots Organic to look like.

Their fresh ideas and innovative approach to the business saw Evergreen Herbs transform into the leading provider of fresh herbs, vegetables and specialty produce in the Canadian produce industry.

What started as a 40 acre farm has grown 2 extensive operating facilities with the most recent addition, our Cambridge, Ontario location.

We are now able to provide the Canadian market with locally and freshly grown herbs and vegetables.

In-house Quality Assurance Laboratory

Water purification system that removes 99.9% of all microbials for irrigation purposes.

All our green waste is composted.

We recycle over 80% of all our packaging material that enter our facility and use over 90% recyclable and environmentally friendly material in our packaging.

Our premises only makes use of energy efficient lighting.

Our storage facilities have been equipped with specialized equipment to ensure products are stored at optimal temperatures and humidity levels to retain their fresh-off-the-farm taste.

Custom-designed Herb “Flow Wrapping” machines will help in reducing our environmental footprint from 14 g of plastic clamshell to 2 g of plastic film. Special features include a breathable plastic film that increases shelf-life.

The Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program is a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognized food safety certification.

SQF uses Codex HACCP methodology to identify and control food safety and quality hazards.

It covers all stages of the food supply chain through industry-specific codes ranging from primary production through to food manufacturing, distribution, food packaging and retail.
