Honey is in our blood!

Chris is a third generation beekeeper!

His grandfather kept beehives in the Netherlands and passed the love of beekeeping onto his six sons.

Chris’ father, Henry, in 1975, began selling honey in the garage behind his house and named his operation Clovermead Apiaries.

In 1987 Henry and Ann moved and restored an old log cabin (1852) on their farm, which is the home for the Honey Shop you enjoy today.

Chris and Christy bought the business in 2000 taking on the family tradition of restoring and re-using antique buildings and barns.

Over the years, Chris and Christy have dragged home and restored corn cribs, pig houses and even the Brownsville train station and antique outhouses!

Now the fourth generation of the Hiemstra family is being raised with a love for bees and joins each summer in the construction and operation, coming up with fun ideas and things to do at Clovermead.

Enjoy our family farm's play area, the friendly farm animals, wagon rides, giant jumping pillow, pedal carts, rope swings, zip lines, NEW Splashpad, corn maze, sandbox, mist maze, straw jump and so much more.

There is fun for everyone.

You can have your child's birthday party on the farm or rent a party shelter for a family celebration.

There is a Bee Discovery Station with Ontario's Largest Glass Bee Hive. The glass walls in our outhouse are crawling with bees, Everyone says Un-bee-lievable!

Summer Days with the Beekeeper, is your family's opportunity to personally and safely see a beehive opened up for you.

Meet the queen bee and ask the beekeeper questions. Learn some new things and have fun at the same time, each day in July & August.

Saturdays starting in September to the end of October is our Pumpkin Festival.

Pick the perfect pumpkin, use the walnut sling shot & walnut cannon. Watch the Pumpkin Cannon shows, it's a "Blast!"

Enjoy free samples at the honey bar.

You can bring your own container to be filled since we have six fresh floral sources of honey on tap.

There are also shelves filled with honey and bee products for you to browse.

We have rustic old heritage buildings, plenty of old fashion country charm, and entertaining funny signs.

It is a quirky-funny experience that you will talk about and enjoy.

Our farm is buzzing with excitement! If your worried about bee stings? Don't bee! It's like a park.

You'll see a few bees on the flowers, family & friends relaxing, having fun together.
